A church wedding is different from a civil wedding in so many ways. Many couples instinctively know that this is a sacred and defining moment in their lives and quite simply they want to mark this special occasion in the presence of God.
At St Andrew's Church we conduct over 100 weddings a year for couples who live and work in Abu Dhabi. Each wedding is unique simply because each couple have their own stories to tell in how they met and why they have chosen to get married. As the Chaplain at St Andrew's it is my privilege to meet all these couples and hear their stories - some of them are deeply moving and inspiring. Part of the wedding process at St Andrew's Church is that each couple meets with the Chaplain and during that time there is the opportunity to get to know one another so that the wedding becomes more personal. There is a pastoral overview of some of the challenges of marriage and a chance to walk through the wedding ceremony itself.
