Here at St Andrew’s Center, we are on the GROW!
You might have noticed the new marquee that is now located within the compound, don’t get excited thinking that the circus is coming. Get excited to know that the Thrift Shop has now been shifted to it as temporary location while its new home’s construction gets underway! While the old Thrift Shop building served us well in a building constructed sometime in the early 80′s, it is now time to expand on it. Replacing it, will be a much larger, three story structure. As well as housing the Thrift Shop, the new building will provide meeting/classrooms, administrative offices and what we hope will be a great place to come and read your favorite book, meet with friends, wait on the kiddo’s or just enjoy a great cup of tea and a biscuit.
As well as the new building, there will be some other enhancements around the compound. The grounds will get a new look such as prayer gardens, sitting areas, shading, greenery, an inviting parameter fence and more. The Community Center and the church will get a fresh new exterior “cladding”. The Community Center will also receive a more inviting interior paint freshen up.
We are also hoping that we will be able to have renovations done to the interior of the church. While Canon Andy’s sermons make up for the discomfort in them, we hope to replace the benches with cushioned chairs. Also, a glass paneled viewing room, balcony renovations, audio/visual and lighting systems, and much, much more!
Please keep us in your prayers, not only for financial provisions, but also that St Andrew’s Center will continue to provide for the needs of many through prayer, charity and growth within Abu Dhabi.
